Getting back to my gardening

I'm so happy today cause after 1 month struggling to finish up all the assignments given to me, today I am free to get back to doing everything that I enjoy to do. Besides continuing with Herbalife, I've been waiting for the free time to take care of my pots and plants.
Here is the side of my house where I arranged my pots. Actually my parents helped with the sunshade just to cool my plants from direct sunlight.

A swing for my kids, especially for Afrina, bought from Ikea, hanged by my father.

Ok, this orchid (I don't know the type) is first time blooming in my garden. Actually it was given by my mom-in-law. She is an orchids fan. I've been taking care of some of her orchid collections for nearly a year, and now the flower is starting to come out.

I have some fruits tree also. This mango tree is planted in front of my house. Since it has been raining lately, the tree is growing very well.

We have another mango tree outside our fence, just starting to grow.

We have also a big 'cili padi' tree. Since I'm not so much fan of hot and spicy food, we always give the chillies to friends at work, and bring back to our parents. Actually we have 'kacang botol' trees also at our back fence, but today I took it all down coz the small white bugs are destroying the tree. Hopefully it will grow back later. For the chillies tree, I have to spray some garlic juice everyday to keep the bugs away.

So today I managed to put fertilizer on all my pots and orchids. I enjoy doing this, but stopped spending money on pots and new plants coz I think we have had enough plants for the house. Maybe I should invest to build 'Edible Garden' in my home like what I saw Datin Jeanne did it Putrajaya in the paper today.

Hopefully when we have enough money to renovate the house, we can build pergola at the side for my hanging pots, and build pots rack, and maybe a little pool with fishes...hmmm...better update my wishlist.

My Brother's engagement ceremony

My 4th brother got engaged last Sunday, 8 March 2009. We call him Erry, well his real name is Ariff Aswad. His fiance's name is Ina.(Not sure the real name).

I'm actually the eldest from 7 siblings. Me and my younger brother already married and got 2 pairs of kids each. My 3rd brother is still single and available hehe...
So here are some pictures from the engagement ceremony.

So here are some pictures from the ceremony. As usual, I have to control my kids during the discussion part as they were trying to scream and running around. Finally, my husband took them to stay in the car.

The food was very nice and delicious. There were sup tulang, ikan semilang masak cili, telur itik masak lemak, some vegetables, fruits, ulams and kuih bakar. Everybody liked the dishes, and there are a lot of people during the lunch time.

And here are some pictures of me, husband and kids. Not manage to get more pictures, but overall very happy with the ceremony and very happy for my brother.

I need to retire my part-time job

I've been struggling to finish up a lot of assignments during this month. Not mine, though. I'm helping some people to finish up their degrees, by doing assignments for them. In return, they'll pay me for the number of assignments that I do for them.

I've targeted to finish everything by end of February. It turned out that after I've finish most of it, more people are contacting me for more copies of assignments. It turns out that I have to do more than 10 assignments for this semester. Can you believe it?

No need for me to tell which University and who are the people involved. What pushed me to post here is their attitude with the assignments. Here are some of the reasons why they ask me to do for them.

1. Not enough time
2. Cannot answer the hard questions
3. Malas nak fikir, nak struggle only for exams and finals.

And when I try to reject, guess what are some of the remarks they made:
1. So easy one...Why you don't want to do it? (Why didn' u do it yourself if it is easy?)
2. Please do it for me, got 2 more weeks to finish. Still got a lot of time. I cannot do it myself, not enough time (Duhhh...)

And when i try to put some price to these late comers, this is their comments:
Why so expensive? i can provide paper and binding. (With total less than RM10?- Come on..why you're trying to find me at last minute?)

Then, after I agree to take just one more, someone send me sms.

Mr A :Can I give ur number to my fren? He want u to do assignment for him too.
Me : cannot take anymore
Mr A : What reason i should give to my friend? Kesian dia.
Me : Up to you.
Mr A : I ckp u nak jaga anak ye.
Me : ???!!!! (whatever)

I'm retyring for next semester (hopefully).

It's You by Shayna Zaid

I really love this song. Thanks to cloudy for introducing me to Yuna. As I was looking for her songs, I found this song. Enjoy the lyrics!

p/s: To enjoy the song, you can go to her myspace page.

S.Zaid & J.Dean

I love, watching your every move
trying to get close to you
seems like I'm falling in love
I feel, heaven under my feet
wrapped up in silky sheets
come lay your head down next to me..

It's you who, I give the most to
I'll let you go when you need room
It's you who, I give my heart to
baby be careful, I've only got one

I want to travel inside your mind
and find out what you like
so I can give you what you mean to me
you are a dream come true
my prayers were answered to
I've been searching all my life..

It's you who, I give the most to
I'll let you go when you need room
It's you who, I give my heart to
baby be careful, I've only got one...

I love, watching your every move
trying to get close to you
seems like I'm falling in love
I feel, heaven under my feet
wrapped up in silky sheets
come lay your head down next to me

oh..

It's you who, I give the most to
I'll let you go when you need room
It's you who, I give my heart to
baby be careful, I've only got one...

I've only got one.

So, it is decided that after this I have to continue to write in this blog for my personal stories, besides updating about my Herbalife stories.
BeautifulLife, tunggu next entry untuk jawab your questions ye!

Blog remains quiet for a while

Since I'm busy with my Herbalife blog , so I will not be updating this blog for a while. Hopefully I will be able to update somewhere in the near future. For now, please read my experience in the other blog.

Upgrading plan

Since my boss has put my link in his blog (thanks my COO), I think I should update & upgrade my blog. Since he has too many fans, it will be a shame if, someday, out of a blue somebody would click on my name and not seeing a good blog. Actually I started blogging to be anonymous, so I can write whatever I like. So I guess I have to 'filter' my post since a lot of people knows who I am now. :)
So, what I should do is to post more often. Add in some new templates. And find more interesting topics to blog about. It nice to read some blogs which tell about certain interest such as photography, baking, certain product, etc. I should have pick an interesting part of my every life to blog about but I still couldn't stick to 1 topic since a lot of things are going on in my life. I guess I'll write what I have in mind when I'm feel like writing. I guess that's just what blog is all about, right?
Other than that, I'm planning to have another blog just for my kids, Afrina and Afiq. But may be this one in Malay. I see a lot of people do this. They put pictures, videos, dialogues with their kids to public. But there are some people who see this as a security issue. With a lot of kidnapping cases, it will be dangerous to let others know the face of our kids, know where we live, places we always hang out. However blog may be the right place to put all the photos and videos of our kids in our handphones and hard disks as a back up. It can also save all the things in order. We can see how they grow up and be more intelligent day by day. So it's actually our own preference. Facebook is another way to share photos and videos.

Well, I should stop now. Finishing my post and later...find a new and nice template for upgrading.

Note to self - things to do

1. Find good recipes for my kids - both of them are picky eaters
2. Explore decoupage - goo for decorations, recycle and can make money too.
3. Learn cake baking and decorating
4. Learn to sew - at least baju kurung for Afrina
5. Reorganize my pots and plants
6. Redecorate my living hall
7. Start a small business - 1st step, register Company Name
8. Continue for masters Degree

What else? A lot of things to do, to explore and to learn. When will I have enough time and money to explore all of them? Which one should I start first?

My office's ' Things to do list'? Believe me it's a lot longer than this.

Why patience a virtue?

From WikiAnwers:

Patience is a virtue because it makes us better people. The definition of the word is to tolerate delay. This implies self control and forebearance as opposed to wanting what we want when we want it. How many times have we jumped the gun and found out it it would have been better to tolerate delay or had self control? What did we miss out on? Did we hurt someone because of lack of patience? Did our lives just change completely just because we couldn't control ourselves? Patience is not only a virtue but a necessity for a happy existence.

I've been holding my patience waiting for our new car since last month. I didn't get enough sleep and can't concentrate to other things.
When me and my husband decided to get the car, we were promised that we'll get the car in about 2 weeks. We were promised that we should get the car the week before Aidilfitri. Then, I have to control my anxiety not to dream too much while waiting for the bank to approve our loans. Finally after we signed the loan agreement I couldn't sleep waiting for the car. But the my heart crashed when we were told that there were problems with the car registrations with the Customs.
However I'm glad we still could go back to Perak for Aidlifitri using the company's test drive car. However we have been using the car for a few days after we came back here bit there's still no news about the registration process. Our car is already in the showroom and the plate number is ready. I just couldn't wait for us to get the car. It is very uncomfortable to use other people's car even though the temporary car is in very good condition. I just hope all process will be completed very soon so we can use our own car as soon as possible. I sure hope the car is worth waiting for. Just like the quote I saw the other day, "Once a Streamer, Always a Streamer."

Breastfeeding celebrity

http://www.celebrity-babies.com/2008/08/breastfeeding-t.html

One Friday Afternoon...

Today before you think of saying an unkind word, think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food, think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife, think of someone who's crying out for a companion.
Today before you complain about life, think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before you complain about your children, think of someone who desires children but they're barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep, think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive, think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job, think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another, remember that not one of us are perfect.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down, put a smile on your face and be contented that you're alive and still around.

I don't remember where did I get this (poem?) but every time I read it, I feel that there a lot of things to be grateful of in my life. Even though I have to hear and read a lot of wonderful things happened in friends life, especially as i was going through their facebook, I believe that I should always be grateful at where I am now. Syukur, Alhamdulillah.

I do not exclusively breastfeed anymore :(

Actually i should write about this about 2 months ago when I no longer exclusively breastfeed my little boy. The supply for his EBM at the nursery has dropped and I have to top up his feeding with formula. But Alhamdulillah he still breastfeed when we're at home.
Right now I no longer do my 3-times-pumping-sessions in the office. Sometimes I did only once and some other days none. Sometimes I feel like I'm released from attaching to my Spectra 3 pump, but a part of me still regretting that I have to let go the routines this early. My target was to exclusive breastfeed him until he is 2 years old. I guess, next baby then. For the time being, I'll continue to pump at least once in the office just to maintain the supply for him until he decides to stop. Maybe when he's at 3 or 4. But I will not push to stop him at 2. Besides, reading the post at motherwear today that Mothers should breastfeed their babies for the benefits of breastfeeding, not because for themselves. I feel that I've fall into the situation when I feel that since my supply has dropped, I should just let my son learn to drink formula. I feel that I haven't given enough effort to continue giving him only breast milk. Insya-Allah I will try harder for my next child. Even if I do not know when I'll start to be ready for another one.
My pumping days goes a long way. From a small size pump to a bigger one. From a cheap one to a more expensive one. The theory is to invest into a good branded pump and it was worth it. I've used Medela Mini-E and currently using Spectra 3. I'm putting my eyes on Medela PIS for my next project. So better start to include this in my budget for next stork delivery.
A lot of problems also happened during my pumping days where I've to let go a lot of defrost EBM due to the technical fault with my refrigerator. I've been challenged to manage my pumping sessions during my outstation to 2-weeks training sessions in Kelantan schools. At that time I have problems with my Medela pump and has to learn to pump with my hands. Thanks to the supportive people from SusuIbu.com and Ms Rita from momslittleones.com , I've faced my obstacles and challenges effectively.
Now I feel proud when I met mothers pumping in the office's surau. I was the first person to do that before this. With a lot of comments and enquiries I have to answer during my pumping sessions in the surau, somehow I've encouraged a few mothers to reserve their BM by pumping at work. Alhamdulillah.

My New Addiction

Ok, this is my new addiction since we moved to our new home. And these pictures really show it. My new hobby is gardening. I'm addicted to buy new pots, plants and soils. Thanks to my family they contributed some of the plants for me; my mother-in-law and my mom in Bukit Beruntung.
The orchids were given by my MIL. Even though I'm still waiting when the flowers going to show up, it is nice to have so many of them. My mom also gave me a pot to put some fish in it. After killing about 6 sets of guppies ad about 3 times trips to the fish shop, I got 3 'ikan kap' from my father recently. I'll show the picture of the fishes later.

I got comments on my Blog!

This morning I was just about to put in this quote in the blog:-

I have found the best way to give advice to your children is to find out what they want and then advise them to do it.
Harry S Truman
33rd president of US (1884 - 1972)
Then I realized I got comments on my entry! This is a surprise for me because I never expected anyone would be reading my blog.
I guess from now on I really have to update so I would attract more reader to read my stories. I really admire mamafiza's blog on how she updates everyday with knowledgeable information and stories. It's like, you can skip all the research and readings just by reading her blogs. Well it is not a good way of learning but for a busy person like me, I guess this way is acceptable. And she always give quick feedbacks on any of your questions like my Macaroni and Cheese :)
So between arranging things in my new house, being a full-time employee, doing some part-time assignments, taking care of the my 2 active kids, and being a dedicated wife to my lovely husband, I have to spare some time to write about all of it in my blog.

One more year to go

My baby boy has reached 1 year old last week on 26 November. That means I've already fully breastfeed him for a year now. Then, it is only another year to go.
BTW I've ordered a new set of Spectra 3 from Momslittleones (MLO). Can't wait for it to arrive in the next few days. I've been having problem with my Medela Mini adapter. According to Rita of MLO that is common for Medela Mini user. And after a year sometimes the suction will becoming less powerful. I thought I experienced that but I figured that was just my own problem. Hopefully with the new Spectra I can continue to pump more efficiently. *wink*

Great tool for pictures

Found this great tool on the web to edit the pictures of your loved ones.
http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/hockney.php
You can make collage from single pictures. I also found other tools provided by flickr to edit your pictures ie make picture cubes, billboards, calendar.
Nice tool for those who are not so good in picture editting (like me hehehe)

Love

I really love this shot we got at Pantai Balok, Kuantan. Look at these 3 people I really love. No words can describe how much love I have for them.

Our Outing Day

Yesterday was our outing day! We started quite late since our kids woke up only at 9am in the morning. Me and my husband actually planned to go to Pasar Tani very early in the morning. I thought at 9am my husband would cancel our plan. However after I finished given bath to Afiq and Afrina at about 9:30 he asked to prepare to go to the Pasar Tani. So I packed up Afrina milk supplies, a few cloth and diapers. And we went out about at about 10am.
When we arrived there it was almost 10:30pm. After my husband parked, which is quite far from the market, we walked along the stalls. We ended up buying rambutan, mata kucing. I bought ikan patin, some vegetables and tempoyak(hmmm). The weather was hot but Afiq stayed so clam in my sling. Afrina, as usual, with so much of her creativity, demands attentions from my husband. Finally we left there at about 11.30am.
Then, we went straight to Megamall. We had our brunch and we looked for the children's cloth for Raya. We went to F.O.S. where my husband bought 2 pieces of shirts. Meanwhile Afrina already asleep in the stroller. Afiq was crying because he was sleepy, so I have to ask to girl at the store to breastfeed him in the Fitting Room. We left the store with both our children sleeping, Afrina on the stroller and Afiq in the sling.
Then we went down to Parkson Grand, and again my husband got himself a new bottle of Hugo perfume. Before that he was waiting for me with my sleeping children in the guest corner, while I'm looking for the kid's cloth. We left Megamall at about 4pm.
I thought we were heading home, but my hungry husband took us to Pantai Gelora instead. We had a nice plate of Nasi Goreng and bought a few karipap, the speacialties of Taman Gelora. Afrina had some fun playing in the playground. After I insisted her that we would take her to the beach , then only she agreed to go.
Instead of going back home, my husband took us to Pantai Sepat where Afrina had fun at the beach.Luckily I brought extra piece of cloth for her so she could play in the water. We should have come back and brought her swimsuit in the future. When my family come from KL I will bring them here so we can have a nice picnic.
We arrived home at about 7pm and both our children was sleeping exhausted. Too bad I cannot get a lot of pictures on our day out because the camera was out of battery :(
